The Northern

West Didsbury's lawn tennis club, The Northern, has added covered glass-walled padel courts on Palatine Road which the club says will keep players dry all year round, alongside its gym, studio and strength and conditioning facilities.

Courts are booked through the Playtomic app in 60- or 90-minute slots. Members pay from £4.50 per person per hour, and non-members are welcome at higher rates; full club memberships start at £40 and give access to all facilities. Racket hire is £3 and balls from £6, with rackets sold from £67.99. Corporate tennis and padel packages are available.

The wider club has a cardio gym, a studio and a strength and conditioning area, while The Lawn Room bar and restaurant is for members only.
