The Ridge in Purley is home to Purley Sports Club, a registered Community Amateur Sports Club open to the wider community. Its glass-walled padel courts are named Padel 1, Padel 2 and The Lexus Padel Court 3, and there is a separate ball-machine court for practice.
Booking is on the Playtomic app and priced per person. Non-members can book up to four days ahead at £15 an hour peak or £12.50 off-peak; members book ten days ahead and pay £4.50 or £3.50. Padel membership is £240 a year for peak, £132 off-peak or £108 for juniors, or can be added to a squash or tennis membership. Floodlighting costs an extra £1 per person per hour.
Every new player must complete a compulsory £20, 30-minute starter package, an assessment that gives a 1 to 5 rating before joining matches. Coaching covers adults and juniors from beginner to expert, with private lessons at £60 an hour for up to four players. Off court there is a bar and a treatment room.
